The technology behind it

Good reasons to ride electric.

What actually goes into a modern electric scooter? Here we explain the technology that makes the difference — honestly, without jargon, and with the models it lives in.

Removable battery

Your charging cable is a wall socket.

Unlock the battery, take it out, carry it with you — and charge at any ordinary household socket: at home, at the office, in the stairwell. No charging station or powered parking spot required.

Many models have room for a second battery — double the range, same wall socket.

Type-2 charging

Charges like an electric car.

The Type-2 connector is the standard plug of the EV world: wallbox in the garage, charge point at the supermarket, public charger on the road. A scooter with a Type-2 port charges right there.

Handy if you already own a wallbox — or spend a lot of time on the road.

Belt drive & mid-motor

No chain grease. No chain care.

Instead of a chain, our sportier models use a toothed belt with a mid-mounted motor — quiet, clean and far lower maintenance. Nothing to oil, tension or degrease.

On many scooters the motor sits directly in the wheel (hub motor): even fewer moving parts, even less wear.

ABS · ASR · TPMS

Safety tech like in a car.

ABS prevents the wheels from locking under hard braking. ASR stops wheelspin when accelerating — noticeable especially in the wet. TPMS monitors tyre pressure and warns you before it gets critical.

What has been standard in cars for years rides along in our top models as standard.

Low maintenance

Fewer parts. Less workshop.

No engine oil, no spark plugs, no exhaust, no clutch: an electric drivetrain simply has fewer parts that can wear out. Inspections remain — but they are shorter and cheaper.

What that adds up to over a year, we calculate transparently:
